The East Region has its second stop on the Potomac River in the historical area of Virginia.

Our Thursday night meeting was hosted at the Ramada Inn/Quantico and the Prince William/Manassas Convention Visitors Bureau. A special thanks goes out to Mark Kowalewski who welcomed us to town for an exciting weekend. Our special speaker was long term friend of Tim Shaw, Joe Young. Joe shared with us his testimony and how he was able to express his faith in a difficult situation with a stranger whose daughter was in the hospital. There were 7 folks who made decisions to rededicate their lives to Christ.

Earlier in the week we were not certain if the tournament would be able to go on due to the bad weather that was heading up the East Coast. Fortunately the storm move further off the coast and we keep everything on as scheduled. 29 teams were able to blastoff right at safe light with an awesome sunrise greeting all of the anglers.

Fishing has been a little tough on the Potomac in 2015. This weekend wouldn’t be any different. Only 9 teams brought in a limit on Day 1 with an average weight per team of 5 pounds.

The top 6 teams will qualify to go to the National Championship Event in 2016.

After on day of competition here’s how they stacked up:

Congratulations to the 1st place team after day 1 of Jon Crans and Paul Wiley who weighed in 5 bass at 13.50 lbs.

Not too far behind is the team of Jim Sutton and Jim Whittman weighing in at 13.33 pounds.

Rounding out the top 3 is the team of Shawn Skobel and Logan Crayton with 12.82 pounds.

Day 2 should be interesting with rain occurring Friday night and a cold front moving through.
